Techamos Una Mano: a Photo Essay

Program participant in front of an eco-friendly home
Fellow Rodrigo Arnaud is the recipient of a 2012 Starbucks Youth Action Grant. Rodrigo is the founder of Techamos Una Mano (Lend a Helping Hand), an organization working to promote the participation of citizens in solving both environmental and social issues in Oaxaca, Mexico

Rodrigo is using the Starbucks Youth Action Grant to deepen his impact and increase the sustainability of his project through socially responsible revenue generation. By organizing students to collect and sell recyclable waste, he can cover a large portion of monthly administrative fees, while still compiling enough materials to build eco-friendly homes for low-income families.

From environmental education and waste management workshops, to hands-on home building, Rodrigo is not only reducing waste today, but creating lasting change in the hearts and minds of Mexico's youth. Learn more about his project through the photo story below.
